 FAQs - Cohort 2

  • The nine month curriculum is designed to codify practices of transformational theater processes where career sustainability, emotional intelligence and self-care meet. Unlike Mental Health Coordinator (MHC) training, sensitivity specialization is not trauma-based; instead, it focuses on emotional regulation, boundary work, and creative community care within artistic processes.

  • Artists, educators, facilitators, and practitioners who wish to develop sensitivity practices in theatrical settings, support collaborative environments, and expand their ability to meet artistic vision while modeling care for all participants.

  • The curriculum consists of nine monthly, three-hour virtual sessions. Each session combines educational theory, discussion, practical exercises, and reflection. Participants must attend all nine sessions to complete the certification. Classes will most likely be the first Monday of the month, 6:30-9:30 pm ET, but could be flexible pending group availability.

  • Self-care as a practitioner, somatic consent and boundary work, working within a director’s vision, sustainable tools and techniques for actors and their character choices, emotional intelligence for the Performing Arts and more.

  • Through active participation in sessions, application of methods in scenarios, documentation exercises, a limited number of written assignments, the final video project and an interview with leadership plus one of your peers.

  • Candidates complete a video presentation which demonstrates their unique style and approach to Sensitivity Specialization. This project serves as both a reflection of the participant’s absorption of material and an assessment of how the curriculum can be applied in their own creative/educational work.

  • Ongoing discussion, group reflection, and mentorship from facilitators. Guidance and support from former cohorts, guest speakers and intra-cohort feedback will be provided leading up to the final project. Those interested in moving toward as Associates will receive additional support in professional career strategies.

  • Graduates will gain tools to support directors, artists, and creative teams, helping to cultivate environments where artistry and sensitivity can enthusiastically coexist. The certification also strengthens professional credibility in theater, education, and facilitation contexts by requiring the development and demonstration of self-awareness, social awareness, empathy, motivation and self-regulating tools.

  • Dedicated sessions focus on radical self-love, self-awareness, and sustainable practices for sensitivity specialists, encouraging participants to maintain balance while supporting others.

  • The program fee is $3300. There is a $500 deposit to secure your spot, if selected, and the balance ($2800) must be paid in full before the start of the first session in January 2026.
